Choosing Your Notebook
Student Use
The industry standard lab notebook for students has classically been the full-size softcover lab notebook, featuring a standard grid layout. Other common variations include the compact softcover lab notebook or full-size wirebound lab notebook.
All of these variations feature the same high-quality binding and paper and layout, but at a lower price point of comparable notebooks.
General Research
For our more advanced users, we generally recommend our go-to standard hardcover lab notebook. It is more durable, lays flatter, and carries a more professional look and feel at a very low entry price. Our standard hardcover is available in all four layouts (Grid, Grid+, Ruled, Dot Grid+).
ISO Certifed Research
Our Grid+ and Dot Grid layouts feature the recommended layout for ISO certified lab research, featuring signature and date blocks on every page. The industry standard for this layout is the ProCover series, a hardcover lab notebook featuring synthetic leather cover and ribbon marker. We also offer this layout in our more basic hardcover and softcover lab notebooks.

Classically a Chemistry Notebook is any lab notebook that features ruled pages. We currently offer ruled pages in our standard hardcover and compact softcover lab notebooks. Like our other layouts, our ruled layouts feature numbered pages, indexes, and user information pages.
